Inspired by some of the beautiful, clapboard and stucco Tudor Revivals of Tuxedo Park in New York, we collaborated with Master Carpenter Jason Walters – owner of Stylecraft Homes to create this, his latest masterpiece in Webster Groves, MO. An appealing mixture of fiber cement exterior building materials (stucco panel and clapboard siding) combine with decorative brackets at the porch and the cantilevered gables to create undeniable Tudor Style for this four+ bedroom home. The mechanics of the home will include a dual zoned, super hi-efficiency groundsource heat pump (geothermal) for the HVAC, and a Hi-efficiency water heater. The implementation of these, and many other sustainable design features will aid us as we seek the NAHB’s green certification. 901 S. Audubon Ave. Clayton, MO.
This year, in collaboration with Ridgemoor LLC, we embarked on the challenge of designing a 3400 square foot home, to be built green - and to fit in aesthetically with the popular neighborhood “The Moorlands”, and its classic Clayton homes. This new home, inspired by the work of Addison Mizner, will be the second “green certified” home in the city of Clayton. The existing home will be torn down, and several of the existing home’s materials will be reused and/or recycled. The existing clay tile roof will be saved for a new home we have under construction a neighborhood away in Claverach Park, and many of the components will be used in this new home as well. |
